Rowan gets so embarrassed when I get
goofy, silly and foolish.
I was born in Puerto Rico,
lived there for 12 years,
12 years in Pennsylvania,
in England,
and nearby here for a while
before I moved into the community.
I’m an artist, too.
A piece of art?
I don’t think I could find anything.
I’d have to go to the attic to find a little painting and dust it off.
I turn 60 in mid-July.
The Bruderhof is in the Baptist tradition,
but is anti-Baptist,
founded by Eberhart Arnold in 1920.
(He was a naughty boy!)
The Bruderhof is about choice and making connections.
Unlike other religions,
it’s positive, though,
not pulling away.
You choose to be a part of it.
You are not born into it.
It has about 260 people here.
Many young people have homes now in the city[Kingston].
They are trying that out.
I think the most important thing I learned
is how to forgive myself.
That was freeing.
If Rowan chooses something else?
Well, I guess I don’t think
you can force anyone to do anything.
